EY’s Financial Services (FS) Tax practice provides tax advisory, transactions and compliance services to a variety of clients in the Financial Services market ranging from some of the world's largest multinational institutions, corporations and funds.

The U.S. tax compliance reporting team continues to experience growth due to strong client demand from London based clients.

The opportunity

Our London based team of U.S.-qualified tax professionals is a growing practice of 50+ individuals focused on providing excellent client service to the asset management industry including real estate, private equity and hedge funds and their management companies. The team is highly dynamic and is looking for motivated, energetic and collaborative individuals to join the team in London.

Your key responsibilities

The role will involve assisting in the preparation of hedge fund, real estate or private equity U.S. tax compliance processes and deliverables for your clients with appropriate consideration of risk, operational, and tax technical issues. The team is looking for an energetic individual beginning their career journey in the world of U.S. tax. This includes researching U.S. tax legislation, assisting in preparing client‑friendly presentations, and ensuring our deliverables are produced with a high level of service.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Experience with partnership taxation.
  • Willingness to learn new concepts with minimal guidance with adequate support.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to be a team player.
  • Excellent time management skills.

To qualify for the role

  • Degree/master’s degree in accounting or taxation (or equivalent).
  • Enrolled Agent or Certified Public Accountant qualification (or working towards one).
  • Basic knowledge of partnership and U.S. international tax concepts and related tax laws.
  • Is flexible, agile, and can adapt to the high pace industry of financial services.
  • Has other interests operationally (recruiting, technology, marketing, etc.).
  • Is willing to understand and share the firm’s values.
  • Is aware of diversity, equity, and inclusive topics and brings their own experiences to solve related issues.
  • Be authentic and demonstrate integrity and professionalism on a consistent basis.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Asset Management industry experience and product knowledge (preferred but not required).
  • RTW in the UK as this role doesn't meet visa sponsorship threshold.
