The Financial Diligence team at EY Parthenon provides a unique combination of transformative strategy, transactions, tax and corporate finance. This role focuses on high‑profile IPOs and transactions, delivering real‑world value to CEOs, boards, private equity firms and governments. Your core work is due diligence – assessing a target company’s finances and business projections, identifying opportunities, risks, sensitivities and potential mitigations, and reporting on these to clients, banks, investors and other parties. You will work alongside experienced due diligence professionals and develop your skills in a range of situations and sectors. There is an opportunity for travel within the UK and potentially internationally, and you will almost always be part of a wider cross‑service line team.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Understand key business drivers, co‑develop our approach with the client, agree value measurements, provide value through insights, factual conclusions and advice, project manage teams, and build strong links within Transaction Diligence and other departments across EY.
  • Gather, verify and assess information, formulate views, and plan, prepare and review deliverables in the form of written reports, presentations and client discussions.
  • Plan and monitor the progress of the team.
  • Share your technical and other knowledge with your team and the department.
  • Build on and develop internal and external networks through personal contacts.
  • Understand the capabilities of the firm and look for opportunities to sell additional services to our clients.
  • Play a role in business plan initiatives (e.g. key accounts, recruitment, client service framework).
  • Be a true business advisor to the client and establish yourself as a key client contact.
  • Take responsibility for your own learning and development, provide coaching/support to others, and participate in upward feedback.

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Be able to gather, verify and analyse information to formulate views/conclusions.
  • Demonstrable experience in planning, preparing and reviewing deliverables in various forms including written reports, presentations and discussions with the client.
  • Offer a supportive culture to junior members of the team, assisting their development.

To Qualify For The Role You Must Have

  • Strong commercial experience and/or relevant industry or transaction experience (including financial due diligence experience).
  • A passion to provide high‑quality service to your clients.

Ideally You’ll Also Have

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Project management skills.
  • Effective time management, able to keep calm under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • A team‑player with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
  • Counselling skills, though not essential.

What We Look For
