The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager to join the CoE’s Statutory Reporting team to lead global engagements for clients with multi-country Statutory Reporting compliance requirements. You will have the opportunity to develop relationships with key accounts and will be responsible for driving growth of new clients through market-related activities to help find and win new clients, delivering transformation to existing clients and identifying and managing process improvement opportunities for established clients. Our global Statutory Reporting model leverages centralised technology to manage the end-to-end Statutory Reporting process. The role will require a keen interest in the latest technology developments including enhancements made possible through the deployment of AI.

Your key responsibilities

  • You will be supporting pursuits and be the point of contact for our Global Clients, to support the design, implementation and governance of a globally consistent, standardised and centrally driven financial statement preparation process.
  • Work with our go-to-market team to create compelling pitches for new work, assist with shaping the commercial strategy and build internal networks where you are able to explain our services to internal stakeholders and potential new clients.
  • Serve as a key point of contact and relationship manager for a designated portfolio of clients, understanding their financial needs and objectives within EY's global statutory compliance engagement.
  • Responsible for coordination of the statutory reporting compliance for our Global Clients and reviewing the activities that are performed in the ETC and EY local offices.
  • Lead and manage a team responsible for delivering statutory reporting services, including but not limited to statutory financial statement preparation and GAAP Bridging.
  • Align with the Client Global Process Owners to monitor and analyse the financial performance of client portfolios, offering strategic insights and recommendations to optimize financial processes, enhance efficiencies, and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure strict adherence to accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and EY's internal policies while maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting for all client accounts.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, understand their challenges, and proactively identify opportunities to improve financial operations, add value, and contribute to their success.
  • Act as a mentor, coach, and advisor to team members, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and professional development within EY.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • An ability to distill complex concepts into simple messages.
  • Extensive accounting experience in finance operations or accounting roles, within a professional services firm.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills to effectively manage client engagements and lead a team.
  • Proficiency in financial statement preparation software and ERP system experience.
  • Analytical acumen with the ability to interpret complex financial data, provide strategic insights, and drive impactful solutions.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, manage multiple client accounts, and deliver results while meeting stringent deadlines.
  • Track record of being part of successful pursuits and supporting teams provide responses to global RFPs.
  • IFRS and/or US-GAAP knowledge; Extensive professional experience in audit/accounting ideally working with global clients.
  • Masters degree in Accounting or equivalent.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Understanding and experience working with various ERP reporting solutions.
  • Experience working with Financial Statement preparation tools (e.g. Caseware, Workiva, Thomson Reuters).
  • Experience working on pursuits and responding to RFPs.
  • Experience coaching and developing junior staff.
  • Experience at an international level.
