In your role as a Director, you will have responsibility for understanding the key revenue and profitability business drivers, co-developing our approach with the client, agreeing value measurements, providing value to the client through insights, factual conclusions and advice. You will project manage multiple teams and work closely with all members as well as forming strong internal links within the Financial Diligence and wider TMT sub-service lines in EY both in the UK and internationally to form multi-disciplinary teams.
You will gather, verify and assess information to formulate views as well as plan, prepare and review deliverables in various forms including written reports, presentations and discussions with the client.
Become part of the leadership team with courage and conviction of a group of high performing TMT practitioners. Lead multiple engagements concurrently of varying complexity. Understand the drivers and equity story for the target business. Use your sector skills and experience to plan engagements, scopes and monitor the progress of the team. Share your technical and other knowledge with your team and the department. Being a true business advisor delivering sector specific advice and knowledge to the client and establish yourself as a key client contact. Build on and develop internal and external networks through personal contacts. Understand the capabilities of the firm and look for opportunities to sell additional services to our clients. Play a role in business plan initiatives (e.g. key accounts, recruitment, client service framework, team allocation). Take responsibility for own learning and development, provide coaching/support to others, and participate in upward feedback and ultimately actively support the development of the next generation of leaders within the organisation.
Skills and attributes for success
- Experience within and excitement for the TMT sector, ideally with a sub-sector specialisation.
- Proven track record of originating cross service line engagements.
- Desire to work on transformational deals with global clients.
- Desire to be a Partner in the organisation.
- Be able to gather, verify and analyse information to formulate views/conclusions.
- Demonstrable experience in planning, preparing and reviewing deliverables in various forms including written reports, presentations and discussions with the client.
- Offer a support culture to junior members of the team, assisting their development.
To qualify for the role you must have
- TMT sector knowledge and experience and accounting experience.
- Business Development experience.
- Preferred ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.
- Strong commercial experience and/or relevant industry or transaction experience (including financial due diligence experience).
- A passion to provide high quality service to your clients.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Be an excellent communicator, both oral and written.
- Have project management skills.
- Be an effective time manager, able to keep calm when under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Be a team player with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels across the firm.
- Have counselling skills, though not essential.
