Private Equity Compliance & Regulatory Management Manager – Market Operations – UKI

EY works with the world’s largest Private Equity funds supporting them to acquire, transform and sell assets. The role requires proactive monitoring and management to ensure compliance with SEC Independence restrictions, EU PIE, UK PIE/OEPI, and EY independence requirements.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Oversight of EY’s GIS updates and maintenance, answering questions from Global Delivery Services, account teams, and independence leaders to ensure timely processing.
  • Initial review of Quarterly Independence Summary Memo (ISM) and supporting documents, coordinating with Independence Senior Associate and GDS to ensure compliance with quarterly independence confirmations.
  • Support PACE questionnaire responses for engagement teams.
  • Monitor press and industry announcements for acquisitions and disposals across focus accounts.
  • Ensure appropriate structure for each account to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain documentation and promote independence procedures applied to Private equity.
  • Coordinate with PE Independence & Compliance Senior Manager on complex regulatory matters.
  • Ensure adequate indicators for any investee with US listed instruments and appropriate channels reflected.
  • Collaborate with US counterparts to share best practice and develop process efficiencies.
  • Perform sense checks, e.g., revenues (PEAR) v SOWs/PACEs, GFIS checks, testing ELs for SEC compliance.
  • Follow up on controlled entities with overseas EY member firms to ensure requirements awareness and issue identification.

Skills and attributes for success:

  • Qualified Accountants or Auditors with strong understanding of Independence concepts.
  • Experience in private equity or investment banking risk management/compliance (desirable).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated understanding and application of compliance and independence principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
