Core capabilities of our team include:

  • Digital strategy, horizon scanning, and strategic planning. Working in combined teams with Business Designers, Researchers, Strategists, Industry and Functional Specialists, we develop a vision, roadmap and case for change to address fundamental issues facing our clients.

The opportunity EY is actively growing our Digital Engineering team in Belfast and is expanding our full‑stack engineering capability. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly capable developer who is ready to operate at a senior level, combining hands‑on delivery with technical leadership, mentorship, and ownership of complex systems.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Actively participate and own the design, development and delivery of full stack products from user interfaces through to the supportive backend databases.
  • Build and maintain responsive, high‑quality user interfaces using modern frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue.
  • Design and implement robust APIs and services, ensuring security, reliability and maintainability.
  • Work closely with product teams to understand complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Present delivered features and technical solutions confidently to stakeholders and clients.
  • Perform thorough peer code reviews, providing constructive feedback and maintaining high engineering standards.
  • Support and lead non‑functional improvements, including technical debt reduction, performance optimisation and creation of clear API documentation.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior developers, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and engineering excellence.

Skills and attributes for success:

  • Strong professional full‑stack development experience, with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Strong experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and modern front‑end frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue.
  • Strong backend development experience using Node.js, Java, Python, .NET or similar technologies.
  • Proven ability to design and build scalable APIs and distributed systems.
  • Solid experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
  • Experience with testing frameworks, unit testing, integration testing and automated testing strategies.
  • Strong understanding of software development best practices, system design, maintainability and code quality.
  • Experience working in agile, cross‑functional teams and contributing to delivery planning and estimation.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP, CI/CD pipelines or DevOps practices would be beneficial.
  • Exposure to NoSQL databases, microservices or event‑driven architectures would be desirable.

  • Strong leadership and technical decision‑making ability.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Confident communicator, able to engage with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
