Our Financial Services Indirect Tax (VAT) team is expanding and we seek a strong VAT tax professional to lead projects, build client relationships, and contribute to the team’s strategic growth.

Your key responsibilities

  • Manage and sustain effective teams, ensuring high‑quality delivery of work.
  • Build strong client relationships and create Go‑to‑Market momentum.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day project management, coaching, mentoring, and staff development.
  • Assist in people initiatives, including training and retention of international tax professionals.
  • Lead strategy and operations for the team, managing junior staff development and assignment.

  • Build and maintain long‑standing client relationships with exceptional service levels.
  • Negotiate, gain buy‑in and handle challenges effectively.
  • Identify and convert opportunities through proactive client relationship management.
  • Deliver technically complex projects with business‑driven excellence.
  • Take overall responsibility for the quality of client service.
  • Generate leads from other practice areas and leverage internal and external networks.
  • Maximise value for EY and clients, managing risk appropriately.
  • Communicate effectively, both written and oral, across a range of situations.

Ideally you’ll also have

  • Appropriate experience within Financial Services.
  • Project management skills: plan, prioritise work, meet deadlines, monitor budget.
  • ACA/ACCA/CA or comparable qualification; or Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training; or Law qualification (or breadth of knowledge and experience equivalent to CTA).
