This is a leadership role, and you will be part of a talented team who will work closely with you to bring the best of EY’s sustainability offering to the energy and utilities sector and to the wider business community. Our Energy and Utilities teams work with high profile clients across the sector on the island of Ireland and internationally to solve their most complex issues. This is the perfect time to join a growing team and to make your mark across a wide variety of markets, sectors and industries. You will develop relationships with our key accounts in line with our Go to Market priorities. You will be client facing, scoping solutions based on client need and working in diverse teams to solve clients’ most complex of problems. Most of your time will be spent embedded with our clients as you drive the best of our portfolio to market. You will be commercially focused, experienced at developing business, and comfortable operating at scale. You will be part of the decision-making around leveraging key accounts, growing the Competency and developing our talented team. What we are looking for

We are looking for talented and committed individuals at senior manager level who are interested in joining our team. You are passionate about helping clients solve their toughest transformation/ strategic problems in the energy sector and applying sustainability principles more broadly. You are experienced in delivering insightful recommendations that are rigorous in their grounding, creative in their selection, distinct to each client, and practical in their ability to be taken to market. Areas of focus for our team, where experience is desired are:

  • energy policy and regulation
  • energy market design and modelling
  • power system operational policy and applications

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Manager in Transformation Architecture, you will:

  • Demonstrate strong commercial experience in energy industry in Ireland or abroad.
  • Build quality trusted relationships with clients that drive lasting outcomes to develop valued relationships by leveraging your own network of clients and EY’s network.
  • Create high-quality work products and act as a subject matter resource on one or more areas of the energy sector, leveraging knowledge and experience to shape services to client problems.
  • Deliver clear and concise communication with internal and external stakeholders, including the delivery and facilitation of workshops and formal presentations, showing a high level of competency in use of Microsoft Suite.
  • Lead, manage and empower multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Be experienced in creating impactful thought leadership for use in business development, engagement delivery, as well as marketing to build EY’s profile in the energy sector.
  • Build strong internal, cross-competency, relationships to bring the best of EY to market through business development initiatives.
  • Drive improvements in business processes, serving as a role model for Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM) and ensuring that project teams understand and comply with our Q&RM guidelines.

Skills and attributes for success:

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • Extensive experience within the energy sector in Ireland or abroad either in the industry or with a blue-chip consulting firm (strong track record in consulting is highly desirable).
  • Experience in delivering complex projects in the energy market in Ireland or abroad.
  • A proven track record in delivering a suite of strategic and business transformation in the energy sector.
  • Senior stakeholder management (e.g. Board, C-Suite) and communication experience.
  • Proven track record in business development.
  • Strong academic record including a third level degree.

Ideally, you’ll also have some experience of delivering elements of projects such as:

  • Strategy implementation including the design and development of long-term strategic roadmaps, implementation planning, critical success factors and development of best practice models to integrate strategy delivery.
  • Conducting trend analyses to assess current market landscape, identifying growth levers, visioning and prioritising to develop a set of strategic choices, and guiding organisations through business model reinvention.
  • Operating Model Design and Development to include Interim and Target Operating Models, and facilitation of workshop-based processes across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Experience in supporting the development of business and commercial cases for significant pieces of new investment or policy changes.
