The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and ambitious Tax Senior to join EY’s specialist Private Tax team in London. You’ll have the chance to work with an impressive portfolio of existing clients while expanding your professional network and contributing to the team’s continued growth.

Our Private Tax team works with a broad range of entrepreneurial, owner-managed, PE-backed, and AIM-listed businesses, as well as their shareholders, family offices, ultra-high-net-worth individuals, private equity clients, and professional partnerships. We act as trusted advisers, delivering comprehensive tax advisory services that include:

  • Tax-efficient value extraction and creation
  • Reorganisations and transactions
  • International tax advisory
  • Ongoing maintenance of client tax structures

Our services span compliance, residence and domicile issues, wealth optimisation, and estate and succession planning. With a diverse UK and non-UK domiciled client base, we frequently provide cross-border tax support through EY’s international network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships
  • Experience advising a range of clients (AIM-listed, PE-backed, family-owned, and OMBs)
  • Creative and pragmatic problem-solving
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Manage and deliver technically complex tax consulting projects with a practical, business-focused approach
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor junior team members
  • Contribute to people initiatives, including team development, training, and retention

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Client-focused with strong strategic and commercial awareness
  • Excellent tax technical knowledge
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Confident negotiator with the ability to sustain and articulate opinions effectively

  • Ideally, you’ll also have ACA / CTA / Tax Inspectors qualification (with full technical training), Law qualification, or equivalent tax specialist qualification
  • Strong tax technical and business development skills
  • Experience coaching and developing junior staff
