Overview
In this role you will lead and manage M&A advisory projects for private equity, corporate and entrepreneurial clients, guiding deal execution from start to finish. You will work within EY’s Scotland M&A team to originate opportunities, coordinate cross-functional work streams, and deliver high-quality transaction documentation. You’ll mentor junior colleagues and expand your professional network while contributing to a strong deal pipeline. This is a high-impact position within a globally connected corporate finance practice.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of projects from proposal to completion across all transaction stages
- Act as main client contact during the transaction process
- Oversee work streams and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams
- Lead delivery of transaction documentation to a high standard
- Coach and develop junior team members
- Originating new opportunities and expanding your professional network
Key requirements
- Significant experience in M&A advisory with a lead role in executing transactions
- Strong client-facing skills and ability to demonstrate value through advice
- Solid financial judgement and ability to craft creative solutions
- Strong financial acumen with understanding of financial statements
- Experience in structuring and modelling financial implications of transactions
- Experience with valuation analysis (multiples, LBO, DCF) and market research
- Ability to present insights clearly in pitches, reports and business plans
- Proven ability to manage junior team members and multiple priorities
- Strong time management and progress communication
- Proactive deal origination and relationship-building with intermediaries, PE firms, targets and clients
