What role you will play in our team
We are looking for highly skilled Welders, Pipefitters, Boilermakers and Riggers to join our Metal Trades Team undertaking work to support Fawley Site Operations. They are expected to have the following attributes:
- High standards e.g. Safety, Trade skills, quality, schedule compliance, ownership of tools & equipment
- Positive attitude and is committed to meeting refinery business needs
- Flexible and willing to perform full range of tasks including supporting other departments/trades and additional hours
- Is willing and able to respond at short notice to imperative work
- Works with minimal supervision, able to think for themselves and solve problems
- Strong team work
- Drives productivity and work to completion

- Delivers work safely at all times
- Ensures work is completed in accordance with relevant standards and procedures
- Follows Safe Working Practices
- Follows Quality System and procedures
- Fully uses permits and follows permit requirements
- Able to communicate effectively and efficiently
- Performs all work with maximum execution efficiency

About you
- Craft / technical apprenticeship completed in one of the following areas- Welding (coded to ISO 9606‑1 in TIG and MMA in ferrous and non-ferrous metals), Pipefitting, Boilermaking, Rigging (Appointed Person trained)
- Petrochemical experience working on the following types of equipment- Heat exchangers, towers, pipework, steelwork, boilers, furnaces, vessels and reactors.
- Technical qualification in relevant trade (BTEC, NVQ, City and Guilds, welding coding’s, Appointed Person, etc)
- Ability to execute complex tasks
- Practical problem-solving skills
- Able to interpret and work from engineering drawings
- Proven team and leadership skills. Able and willing to step up and lead a team when required
- Willingness to learn additional trade skills and become a multi skilled technician
- Competent with using workshop machinery
- Basic computer skills e.g. Outlook, Word and Excel and willing to take on additional training to learn additional systems
