What you will do
Depending on specific desk assigned you will be expected to work extensively to develop Freight Trading strategies with the teams handling our Chemicals, Lubes and Specialties Trading, our Clean Products Trading or for the Flex position to cover multiple desks as required. Negotiation in the freight market to secure competitive commercial terms.
About you
To be eligible for this role, you should:
- Be educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in a numeric discipline Engineering, Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or Statistics (or relevant work experience underpinned by strong P&L performance).
- Have previous Freight Trading experience, focused predominantly on evaluating, optimizing and trading physical freight in global markets.
- Have a demonstrable track record in the freight market including new opportunity development.
- Be able to demonstrate the ability to establish broker/asset contacts to generate new business opportunities.
- Possess a strong understanding of risk management principles.
- Have strong commercial acumen, an entrepreneurial mind-set, analytical/IT skills, and take accountability for your results and contributions to the team.
- Possess a broad range of personal effectiveness and leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate and influence business decisions in a multi-cultural team environment.
- Have fluent English language skills (written and spoken), with additional language skills being desirable.
