An Advanced Environment, Climate and Regulatory Engineer supports effective execution of environmental management and regulatory compliance standards, processes, and tools for a project or operating facility. They work independently on more complex projects, solve routine issues with minimal guidance, and make impactful decisions using their experience and perspectives. They serve as an independent contributor capable of effectively collaborating and influencing team actions and decisions. They apply core knowledge (environmental practices, regulatory compliance and standards) and specialized knowledge (e.g. permitting) based on the business needs.
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Perform routine environmental and regulatory compliance activities including managing data associated with environmental and regulatory permitting, compliance, processes and programs.
- Coordinate information gathering, respond to regulatory agency information requests, and support permit applications.
- Assist in developing consistent and efficient compliance programs (e.g. environmental aspect / impact assessments, environmental business planning).
- Provide feedback on process and tool improvement opportunities including impact avoidance and mitigation measures.
- Lead implementation of appropriate environmental and regulatory practices including impact avoidance and mitigation measures for operating facility, marketing business unit or project.
- Lead environmental business planning efforts or environmental aspect assessments for the site or project.
- Communicate company position on issues affecting operating or business unit on a local governmental agency level (e.g. permit application interface with a department of environmental quality).
- Advocate for responsible, sustainable business positions; clearly communicate business and technical impacts; and effectively advance these positions in regulatory and governmental engagements.
