Position Summary
Access Services at XR Global (UK) Limited is a leading provider of commercial accessibility services and is seeking an experienced English hard-of-hearing specialist to join the team as a Production Services Specialist. This role is offered on a one-year fixed term to provide maternity cover, with the possibility of extension.
Job Responsibilities
- Creating English hard-of-hearing subtitles for broadcast, online and cinema.
- Organising the creation and delivery of audio description, BSL and foreign-language projects, from the quotation stage to the client deliverables, while maintaining strict quality standards.
- Liaising with clients, adapting to short-notice schedule changes, handling media assets, and sourcing and managing freelance linguists.
Client Liaison
- Providing direct support throughout the project cycle.
- Communicating project status.
- Handling technical issues and linguistic queries.
- Ensuring that projects meet expectations.
Project Management
- Assigning, scheduling and supervising accessibility projects.
- Sourcing and recruiting linguists.
- Analysing media technical specification and content.
- Applying quality control to ensure the creation of the highest quality work.
Other Associated Duties
- Liaising with specialist personnel in other XR departments.
- Finding solutions to technical and linguistic issues.
- Staying up to date with technology developments.
- Ensuring all projects are invoiced accurately.
Proven experience in production services, operations, or a similar role within a media, accessibility, creative, or technical environment. Advanced training and hands-on experience with professional subtitling software. A consistently high level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy across all production outputs. Strong organisational and coordination skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to work effectively with internal and external partners. Commitment, dedication, and a proactive approach to workload management. Technical competency with various file formats and the ability to navigate technical documentation. Flexibility to work within weekly shift patterns.
