Are you an experienced housing professional who is enthusiastic about excellent services, resident voice and improving later-living communities? The ExtraCare Charitable Trust is looking for a Housing & Resident Engagement Manager to lead high-quality housing management and resident engagement services across our integrated retirement communities. This is a key strategic role where you will help older people live independently, safely, and confidently, while ensuring residents have meaningful opportunities to influence the services that affect them.

You will provide leadership and direction for housing management, Enhanced Housing Management and Housing Related Support services, working closely with Regional Operations Managers, Location Managers, housing partners, and resident representatives to deliver coordinated, compliant, and cost-effective services. You will also lead our approach to resident engagement, complaints oversight and landlord responsibilities as a Registered Provider, helping us listen well, respond consistently, and use resident feedback to improve services.

  • A good understanding of landlord responsibilities, tenancy management, complaints handling and social housing regulation.

  • A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to influence, advise and support teams across multiple locations.

Role details:

  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Permanent / Full Time)
  • Location: Head Office, Coventry, CV3 2SN.
  • Salary: £52,500 per annum

What you will be doing:

  • Lead housing management services across the Trust, ensuring a visible, resident-focused service that promotes independence, wellbeing, inclusion, and tenancy sustainability.
  • Manage tenancies effectively by supporting locations with sign-ups, tenancy breaches, anti-social behaviour, safeguarding concerns, notice periods and terminations, in line with legislation, policy and good practice.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with housing partner organisations, ensuring services are delivered to the standards our residents expect and deserve.
  • Ensure compliance with social housing regulation by keeping up to date with the requirements of the Regulator of Social Housing and embedding these expectations into day-to-day practice.
  • Lead the effective running of Resident Forums, including agenda planning, liaison with Chairs and Vice Chairs, minutes, communications and promotion among residents and colleagues.
  • Promote and support Resident Associations and other routes for resident representation, involvement, and participation, including approaches that reach seldom-heard voices.
  • Work closely with Local Authorities, voluntary organisations, statutory bodies, and other partners to strengthen service delivery and resident outcomes.
