ExtraCare Charitable Trust are recruiting for a Senior Housing Support at Wixams Retirement Village in Bedford! Are you looking for a role where you can apply your previous housing experience or if you have experience managing a small team, understand the challenges that our residents face regarding housing related issues, and you have the ability to provide comprehensive support and guidance then we would like to hear from you. We are currently looking to recruit a dedicated Senior Housing Support to provide an efficient and caring enhanced housing management service at our modern Retirement Village in Bedford.

Job Details

  • Hours: 35hrs per week, including some weekends
  • Salary: £15.58 per hour (£28,432pa pro rata FTE £30,463pa)
  • Location: Wixams Retirement Village, Bedford Road, Bedford, MK42 6EA

What will you do as our Senior Housing Support?

  • Carry out regular resident visits and provide advice to residents on maintaining tenancy / lease conditions
  • Provide information, support and advice to residents and help resolve low level neighbour issues
  • Check that residents are safe and that the building and the grounds are secure
  • Ensure that repairs are completed and health & safety checks are carried out
  • Manage Housing Support Assistants and Reception, ensuring appropriate coverage
  • Establish and maintain good relations with recognised Residents Associations, providing a supporting role to their effective running
  • Help residents understand written correspondence in relation to housing related debts, providing advice and reassurance
  • Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements for our housing and care obligations

Our ideal Senior Housing Support will have:

  • Experience of housing management or housing support or transferrable skills from experience of customer service in another sector
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of managing or supervising staff
  • CIH Level 2 Certificate in Housing Practice, or willing to work towards
