We are looking for a motivated, and proactive leader to lead and oversee key village service activities and volunteers to catering, retail, the bar, reception, and the gym — you’ll be at the heart of it all. We’re looking for someone who can deliver top-notch customer service, boost income with a sharp commercial eye, and keep everything safe, compliant, and thriving. As our Hospitality (Lifestyle) Manager, you will act as Deputy to the Village Manager, you’ll step up in their absence and lead delegated teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective services for residents. You’ll drive customer service excellence, boost income with a sharp commercial eye, and make sure KPIs and safety standards are met.

As Hospitality (Lifestyle) Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind exceptional hospitality experiences to carry out the following tasks:
Principal Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Lead and inspire teams to deliver high-performing, customer-focused services across the village. You’ll manage resources effectively, build strong relationships with staff and external partners, and champion best practice to keep services running to the highest standards.
Catering & Bar Lead
- Oversee catering and bar services to deliver high-quality food, drink, and customer experience while ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards. Manage budgets, monitor contracts, support events, and drive new income opportunities in collaboration with the Head Chef, Bar Team, and Village Manager.
Volunteers:
- Line-manage the Volunteer Organiser to meet volunteer targets and drive recruitment locally and internally.
- Maintain a clear, robust volunteer programme outlining roles, responsibilities, and training.
- Ensure regular volunteer engagement, feedback, and support.
- Develop metrics to track volunteer impact on health and well-being.
- Help build partnerships with local organisations to grow a diverse volunteer base.
Activities, Gym and Reception:
- Manage activity, gym, and reception staff to deliver high-quality service.
- Ensure varied, inclusive programmes and collaborative initiatives.
- Monitor budgets, compliance, and maximize efficiency.
- Track outcomes on health, well-being, and service impact.
- Maintain welcoming, skilled, and efficient reception operations.
- Allocate admin tasks to support smooth village operations.
Retail
- Manage rents, direct debits, arrears, and shop leases.
- Review and communicate competitive rental fees annually.
- Keep shop managers informed to foster an inclusive environment.
- Support implementation of cashless payments.
- Ensure liability insurance is in place and regularly updated.
Hospitality (Lifestyle) Manager Person Specification:
- Extensive experience in a management or senior role with a customer service or front of house focus
- Experience of achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Coordinating and delivering events within the Village
- Experience of leading and managing staff and volunteers within a commercial business
- Generating income and budget management (specifically profit and loss)
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, residents, external customers and other key stakeholders
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work on your own initiative and develop new systems and processes
- Effective leadership and ability to motivate staff as well as implement a positive customer experience for residents
- Demonstrate strong business acumen
