The ExtraCare Charitable Trust is recruiting for a dedicated Hospitality Assistant to join our friendly team at Solihull Retirement Village. Position: Hospitality Assistant (Kitchen Focus) - 15 hours permanent contract

Hourly Rate: £13.45 per hour

Location: Solihull Retirement Village, Birmingham, B90 2FH

What will you do as our Hospitality Assistant?

While your title is Hospitality Assistant, your daily focus will be the "engine room" of our kitchen, primarily performing Kitchen Porter duties. This includes:

  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness across all kitchen and food prep areas.
  • Managing the pot wash station, ensuring all equipment, cutlery, and crockery are sparkling and ready for service.
  • Assisting our culinary team with basic food prep and ensuring the chefs have the tools they need, exactly when they need them.
  • Helping with deliveries and keeping storage areas tidy.
  • Supporting front-of-house when required, including clearing tables and ensuring hospitality areas are presentable.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who takes pride in a job well done and enjoys the fast-paced rhythm of a kitchen environment. You will have:

  • A willingness to focus on cleaning, washing up, and supporting the back-of-house team.
  • A team player who can work effectively with chefs and front-of-house staff.
  • Reliability that our residents and team can count on.
  • Comfort in stepping into customer-facing areas when the village is busy.
  • Experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is an advantage.
