Details of a Production Team Leader
- Location: Hixon ST18
- Working Days: Monday to Thursday
- Pay: £15 per hour
- Type: Temp - Perm role
Roles of a Production Team Leader
- Lead, motivate and support a team of production operatives
- Conduct daily team briefings and communicate production priorities
- Monitor attendance, timekeeping and performance
- Assist with training, onboarding and development of team members
- Ensure production plans and schedules are achieved
- Allocate labour and resources effectively to meet customer requirements
- Monitor workflow and identify production bottlenecks
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste
- Ensure all products meet customer specifications and quality standards
- Promote a right-first-time culture throughout the production area
- Maintain production records and traceability where required
- Promote and maintain safe working practices at all times
- Support Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence activities
- Monitor productivity and efficiency within the team
Requirements of a Production Team Leader
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, production, assembly, engineering, logistics or industrial environment
- Previous experience leading, supervising, mentoring or coordinating a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to organise workloads and manage priorities effectively
- Good problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Competent with basic computer systems and production documentation
- Positive attitude and willingness to lead by example
- Desirable experience within wiring harness, cable assembly, electronics, automotive, aerospace, rail or defence sectors
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles would be advantageous
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems would be beneficial
