Overview

Extra Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Caretaker for one of our clients based in Scunthorpe. As a Maintenance Caretaker you will be responsible for the estate\’s maintenance, carrying out regular site safety checks and able to work on their own initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out and record regular safety checks, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, playground equipment, and legionella prevention.
  • Complete a variety of maintenance tasks as directed by the Head Teacher, such as basic carpentry, plumbing, and painting.
  • Plan and manage a rolling decoration schedule, to be completed during school holidays.
  • Oversee contractors working on-site, ensuring their work is safe, high-quality, and completed properly.
  • Maintain the school grounds, including grass cutting and hedge trimming when needed.
  • Keep all pathways and entrances clear of leaves, moss, snow, and ice to ensure safe pedestrian access at all times.
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks as requested by the Head Teacher or the Estates Team.
