Extra Recruitment are recruiting for a CNC Operator / Programmer in the Birmingham B11 area. While professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required.
Details of a CNC Operator / Programmer
- Salary: £14.50 - £17 Per Hour
- Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 4:30pm (Friday 8:30am-12 Noon)
Role of a CNC Operator / Programmer
- Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.
- Background with Fanuc and Mazak machines
- Understand the specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading CAD drawings etc.
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
- Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
- Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts
- Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
Requirements of a CNC Operator / Programmer
- Proven experience as CNC operator and Programmer with Fanuc and Mazak
- Ability to read mechanical documents and CAD drawings
- Computer savvy with a basic understanding of CNC
- Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
- Good communication abilities
