Extra Recruitment are recruiting for a Production Team Leader in the Hixon area.

Details of a Production Team Leader:

  • Location: Hixon ST18
  • Working Days: Monday to Thursday
  • Pay: £15 per hour
  • Type: Temp - Perm role

Roles of a Production Team Leader:

  • Lead, motivate and support a team of production operatives
  • Conduct daily team briefings and communicate production priorities
  • Monitor attendance, timekeeping and performance
  • Assist with training, onboarding and development of team members
  • Ensure production plans and schedules are achieved
  • Allocate labour and resources effectively to meet customer requirements
  • Monitor workflow and identify production bottlenecks
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste
  • Ensure all products meet customer specifications and quality standards
  • Promote a right-first-time culture throughout the production area
  • Maintain production records and traceability where required
  • Promote and maintain safe working practices at all times
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence activities
  • Monitor productivity and efficiency within the team

Requirements of a Production Team Leader:

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, production, assembly, engineering, logistics or industrial environment
  • Previous experience leading, supervising, mentoring or coordinating a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organise workloads and manage priorities effectively
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Competent with basic computer systems and production documentation
  • Positive attitude and willingness to lead by example
  • Desirable experience within wiring harness, cable assembly, electronics, automotive, aerospace, rail or defence sectors
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles would be advantageous
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems would be beneficial
