Self Employed Home Helper

We are looking for a kind, reliable and personable Home Helper to support an older gentleman with daily one-hour visits in the MK17, Aspley Guise area. This is a self-employed role offering consistent work, with a planned start week commencing 5 January.

Please note: This role is for companionship and light household support only – no personal care is required.

Role Description:

Extra Help is seeking a Home Helper / Companion to provide daily support to an older gentleman in his own home. The role focuses on companionship, light household assistance and monitoring general wellbeing, with regular communication and updates provided to family members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing friendly companionship and conversation
• Putting away shopping and light household tasks
• Checking the washing and general household oversight
• Observing and monitoring general wellbeing
• Liaising with family members to provide reassurance and updates

Requirements:

• A warm, patient and dependable nature
• Experience supporting older people (preferred but not essential)
• Strong communication skills and a professional manner
• Ability to work independently and reliably
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check
• Ability to provide references
• Own transport preferred due to location

Pay & Schedule:

• £17 per hour
• Daily visits – 1 hour per day
• Consistent, ongoing work

• Interviews to be held this week and early next week
• Start date: Week commencing 5 January

Pay: £17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
