As a Care Worker with Housing 21 you will support residents living independently in their own apartments within our schemes. You will work as part of a friendly, supportive team to help residents maintain their daily lives and well-being.
Hours & Contract
Zero-hour contract with pay of £13.48 per hour, equivalent to £24,601 per annum based on a 35-hour week. Benefits include Holiday Pay, Occupational Sick Pay, Occupational Maternity Pay, and access to our Health Cash Plan.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with domestic tasks such as laundry, shopping, cleaning, and paying bills.
- Prepare meals, drinks and snacks as required.
- Encourage and support residents to follow agreed care plans.
- Help residents get up in the morning and provide personal care (washing, bathing, dressing, by-night routines).
- Assist with medication administration and ensure it is taken as required.
- Maintain resident well-being by listening, offering companionship and keeping management and agencies informed of progress.
Qualifications & Personal Qualities
- No previous qualifications or experience required – a positive attitude and kind manner are essential.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
- Reliability, flexibility and the ability to use initiative.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Commitment to undertake further training and support to achieve relevant qualifications.
