The Supply Chain Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials and finished goods throughout the supply chain. This role involves monitoring stock levels, raising purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers and third-party storage partners, and providing clear operational insight to warehouse and production teams. This is a key cross-functional role that contributes directly to service levels, stock availability, and overall supply chain performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor stock levels on site to ensure sufficient cover is in place to meet production schedules
- Raise purchase orders for stock deliveries, covering both regular stock lines and contract lines (make-to-order)
- Manage stock levels of added-value products, ensuring deliveries to and collections from suppliers are coordinated in a timely manner
- Actively manage shelf-life considerations to minimise risk of waste or stock shortages
- Work closely with our third-party storage partners to raise call-offs for stock required on site
- Communicate with suppliers to confirm lead times, minimum order quantities (MQOs), and any supply constraints
- Track supplier performance and proactively manage risks to stock availability
- Support Warehouse and Planning teams by providing visibility of incoming stock volumes and potential capacity challenges
- Communicate any delays or supply issues that may impact production plans or customer service levels
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure stock movements are aligned with operational priorities
- Report on stock performance versus forecast and highlight any anticipated challenges or risks
- Assist in planning reviews and contribute insight to improve accuracy and supply reliability
- Maintain accurate system data relating to stock movements and supply chain planning
- Identify opportunities to improve stock control processes, supplier coordination, and planning efficiency
- Support initiatives aimed at reducing waste, improving stock availability, and enhancing service levels
The ideal candidate must have:
- Experience in supply chain, planning, logistics, or stock coordination (previous experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, chilled distribution, or dairy is desirable)
- Strong organisational and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Confident communicator able to work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams
- Ability to analyse, interpret and present data being proficient in Excel (using complex formulas, Pivot tables, etc)
- Good understanding of Outlook and other Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with ERP or stock management systems (SAP experience is desirable but not essential)
- Understanding of shelf-life management and stock rotation
- Knowledge of production planning or supplier scheduling processes (desirable)
