What are we looking for?

  • Essential
    • At least 3 years of professional experience in social media management, digital marketing, or content creation
    • Confident using key platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter)
    • Solid copywriting and visual communication skills
    • Proactive, reliable, and comfortable working independently as part of a remote team
    • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Desirable
    • Experience with TikTok, Telegram, or scheduling tools like Chilli or Buffer
    • Basic graphic design (e.g. Canva, Photoshop) or video editing skills
    • Understanding of digital campaigning or grassroots organising
    • Experience working with remote or volunteer teams

About The Role

Digital Rebellion is a team within XR UK focused on creating accessible, at-home digital actions for individuals and local groups. Our mission is to make it easier for people to participate in meaningful climate action—wherever they are. We’re looking for two experienced social media professionals to help grow our online presence, create engaging digital content, and support movement-wide campaigns. You’ll work with our Social Media Coordinator and wider team to plan and publish content across key channels, amplify XR and partner-led digital actions, and improve engagement with new and diverse audiences. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in digital communications who’s passionate about using their skills to support environmental and social justice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the social media team to post scheduled content across Facebook, Instagram, and X/Twitter
  • Create and share digital content for campaigns, events, and digital action call-outs
  • Engage with audiences online in a timely and consistent tone
  • Help maintain a weekly content rota with support from the Social Media Coordinator
  • Stay updated on XR UK and partner organisation events and campaigns
  • Contribute ideas and research to enhance Digital Rebellion’s digital strategy
  • Monitor platform activity and flag key trends or feedback
