Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is looking for a high-level Sr. Technical Business Analyst and Customer Product Owner-FLEX/CONTRACTOR that will lead complex, enterprise-scale retail technology engagements, partnering closely with clients, product, and engineering teams to translate business objectives into high-quality, scalable solutions. This role serves as a trusted advisor, guiding requirements definition, backlog prioritization, scope management, and delivery execution while advocating for core product capabilities. The position provides leadership across projects, mentors other Business Analysts, and drives best practices within the organization, leveraging deep expertise in retail operations and Point of Sale systems to deliver measurable business value.
Responsibilities:
- Lead large, complex customer engagements, ensuring that business requirements are clear and achievable.
- Monitor project progress and address any issues that arise, working to ensure that the project delivers value to both the client and Toshiba.
- Analyze client business requirements to determine the best approach to meeting the client's needs (e.g., existing functionality, new feature).
- Advocate for product as appropriate for the given project and guide customers in their decision making.
- Conduct interviews, surveys, and workshops with clients to gather an understanding of the what and why behind their business needs.
- Accountable to define and document project scope using artifacts received from sales and the client, information gathered in the workshops, and your knowledge of core product.
- Advocate for the use of core product functionality to solve business needs and reduce project scope.
- Analyze and document highly complex requirements and translate client requirements into product requirements including unhappy path and edge cases and ability to discern and include in requirements the impact of the change to other areas of the system.
- Create and maintain requirements documentation that clearly and accurately conveys what is changing and why, with both client and product perspectives.
- Accountable for overseeing and reviewing work performed by BAs on their project(s) ensuring the documented requirements are fit for both the client and product.
- Learn Toshiba systems and become a system SME with extensive retail knowledge.
- Manage a client's Backlog as a lead project BA with an understanding of the Gaps and understands the priority and milestones to which features are needed.
- Build a strong relationship and is seen as a trusted advisor to the client and the project team.
- Research client questions regarding functionality by using test systems, reading documentation or reaching out to SMEs as needed to get required answers.
- Support the development team during the build phase.
- Review and approve test cases and scenarios and help with the execution of testing to ensure that solutions meet business requirements.
- Manage scope by identifying and calling out scope changes and can have scope conversations with the client.
- Leads major process improvement of the BA team through helping to define BA best practices, special projects and mentorship of other Business Analysts.
- Aids in change management of new processes and procedures within the BA or Professional Services Organization.
- Up to 25% travel.

- 12+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst supporting enterprise-scale solutions.
- 10+ years of experience in the retail industry.
- Extensive experience partnering with software development teams in complex, multi-phase delivery environments.
- Proven expertise in Agile development methodologies.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level stakeholder engagement.
- Strong leadership, mentorship, and team collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated experience creating high-quality product and requirements documentation.
- Self-directed with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Deep domain expertise in Retail Point of Sale (POS) systems.
