About the service: The Janus service has the specific purpose of providing supports to young people and their families to reduce the likelihood of these young people entering the care system. This includes young people currently in Care placements, and those who have had prior experience, but the overarching care plan is to ensure they return and/or maintain within the family home.
The Janus Model includes therapeutic support, crisis intervention, emotional support, advice & guidance, and partnership working to assist service users in addressing the barriers to progression and promote positive family relationships.
As a Janus Keyworker you will work with service users to improve their quality of life within their community by promoting well-being, independence, healthy life choices and training & employability options. As well as improving outcomes for their parents/carers and any other siblings. These families present with varying and complex needs and will include engaging in and participating in overarching statutory care plans. This is multi-disciplinary work which requires an ability to engage partners as well as young people and families. As a Linx/Janus worker, one will need to be resilient enough and open-minded to deal with some of the challenges that such complex needs can present.
