Salary: Grade 5 salary: £25,614 - £31,325 per annum
Hours: 40 standard hours (including breaks) (Flexibility Required)
Contract Status: Permanent
Location: Based in Belfast but with flexibility to work from home (Within the local area)
About the service
Extern’s Belfast Connections Workers play a crucial role in educating, raising awareness & supporting local communities with existing and emerging alcohol and substance related issues. The team provide prevention and early intervention guidance and deliver awareness raising sessions and training to community stakeholders, and signpost to drug and alcohol services within the area and generate relevant social media content. In addition, Belfast Connections work alongside the regional Connections service, collaborating on NI campaigns such as Alcohol Awareness Week & Dry January. The Connections service participates in delivery of the action plan agreed by PHA & the Belfast Drug and Alcohol Coordination Team (BDACT) within the local community.
Specific To Post
The postholder will use a range of communications skills and substance/alcohol related knowledge to engage with local communities using various platforms (social media, community events, awareness raising sessions etc.). This includes locality specific insight into new and emerging substances of use and trends resulting from these. It is important that the postholder can use their creativity to communicate effectively with local partners, communities and regionally as required.
