They are currently looking for a Trade Compliance Coordinator to be based at their site in Newcastle Upon Tyne on a full time, permanent basis. The Role of the Trade Compliance Coordinator

The Trade Compliance Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and compliant movement of goods in and out of the UK, Ireland, and EU. This position supports the business on all import and export control-related operational activities, contributing to the overall efficiency and compliance of the organisation.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Conduct and record screenings/background checks for due diligence to ensure compliance of potential customers.
  • Collaborate with various departments to support commodity code classification from the UK tariff.
  • Understand customs procedures and ensure the correct processes are followed.
  • Prepare shipping documentation and stay updated with country-specific requirements.
  • Use government systems to submit export license applications.
  • Generate customs clearance instructions for import and export consignments.

About You – Trade Compliance Coordinator

The ideal Trade Compliance Coordinator will have a strong understanding of the post-Brexit trading landscape and experience in UK (and EU/US) sanctions and export controls.

Other requirements include:

  • Working knowledge of the UK customs Tariff and rules of origin.
  • Experience with licence application systems and screening tools.
