An established UK‑based engineering and construction group, operating across complex technical and critical infrastructure environments, is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support the delivery of high‑value, mission‑critical projects.
The Role – Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
- Leading mechanical services design from concept through detailed design and commissioning
- Developing and reviewing cooling systems, including chilled water, CRAH/CRAC, free cooling and adiabatic solutions
- Producing design calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports
- Delivering mechanical solutions aligned with redundancy and uptime requirements
- Coordinating with electrical, structural and architectural teams to ensure integrated design
- Supporting site activities, commissioning, FAT/SAT testing and project handover
- Engaging with clients and contributing to value engineering and risk mitigation
About You – Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Extensive experience in mechanical services design within data centres or similarly critical environments
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, thermal modelling and energy efficiency strategies
- Familiarity with industry standards such as CIBSE, ASHRAE and BSRIA
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and mechanical modelling software
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead complex technical workstreams
