Our client, a successful local FMCG brand, is looking for a Production / Packaging Operative to join its team at its site in Northumberland. This role is a great opportunity for someone who is reliable, practical and keen to work in a busy production and warehouse environment.

The Role

The successful Production / Packaging Operative will work as part of the production and warehouse team, supporting the smooth running of the process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting production, packaging and warehouse operations
  • Preparing finished goods for storage, dispatch and delivery
  • Loading and unloading stock safely
  • Carrying out quality checks throughout the production process
  • Keeping work areas clean, tidy and safe
  • Following food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures
  • Reporting any equipment, stock or quality issues to the relevant supervisor

The Person

The ideal candidate will be dependable, practical and willing to get stuck in. Previous experience in production, manufacturing, food and drink, warehousing or packing would be beneficial, although full training can be provided for someone with the right attitude.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Comfortable with manual handling and standing for periods of time
  • Reliable, punctual and flexible
  • Willingness to follow processes, hygiene standards and health & safety procedures
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Previous experience in production, packaging, warehousing or manufacturing would be advantageous but is not essential
