Our client is a global engineering business with multiple sites in the North East. They are currently looking for a Hydraulic Design Engineer to be based at their site in Newcastle on a permanent basis.

The Role
As a Hydraulic Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for producing hydraulic engineering deliverables across work packs, subsystems, and full project scopes. You’ll work closely with Senior and Lead Engineers, contributing to concept design, detailed design, calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver hydraulic design solutions including schematics, calculations, BOMs, and technical reports.
- Ensure compliance with design practices, guidelines, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls teams to ensure system integration.
- Participate in design reviews and support testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
- Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and technical accuracy in all design work.
About You
- Experience as a Hydraulic Design Engineer or similar engineering design role (2–5 years ideal).
- Degree in Engineering (BEng/MEng).
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, HydroSym), and engineering principles.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
