Our client is a global engineering business with multiple sites in the North East. They are currently looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to be based at their site in Newcastle on a permanent basis.

The Role

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll contribute to the full design lifecycle—concept development, detailed design, calculations, schematics, and documentation. You’ll work closely with Senior and Lead Engineers to produce high quality technical solutions that meet safety, project, and performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce electrical design deliverables including drawings, schematics, specifications, and supporting calculations.
  • Develop robust technical solutions that meet project requirements across multidisciplinary inputs.
  • Support the creation of functional design specifications and technical documentation.
  • Contribute to design reviews and ensure all work meets required standards and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, hydraulic, and control engineering teams to achieve project objectives.

Key Requirements

  • Experience working as an Electrical Design Engineer within a multi disciplinary engineering environment.
  • Degree in Engineering (BEng/MEng) or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of electrical design principles, standards, and engineering tools (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN).
  • Strong problem solving ability, attention to detail, and ability to manage workload effectively.
