Contract Type: 6-month fixed term contract

Our client is a global engineering business with multiple sites in the North East. They are currently looking for a Stores Person to be based at their site in Blyth on a 6-month fixed term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Stores Person to join a fast-paced, well-established operation where accuracy, organisation and teamwork are highly valued.

As a Stores Person, you will play a key role in supporting daily warehouse and logistics activities, ensuring stock is received, stored and issued efficiently to meet operational demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, check and book in goods against delivery notes and purchase orders
  • Maintain accurate stock control and carry out cycle counts
  • Pick, pack and dispatch orders to internal teams, customers and suppliers
  • Issue parts, tools, PPE and equipment, ensuring records are updated
  • Support logistics operations and maintain safe storage practices, including COSHH items

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Stores Person or within a warehouse/stores function in an engineering or industrial environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage workload independently
  • IT literate, ideally with ERP/MRP systems experience (e.g. SAP or similar)
  • Valid forklift (counterbalance) licence
  • Good communication skills and a proactive, team-focused approach
