A long‑established, market‑leading engineering manufacturer is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its growing team. This organisation supplies precision‑engineered components to a range of sectors and requires a driven and commercially aware Project Manager who can ensure projects are delivered to exacting customer standards.
The Project Manager will play a key role in developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, ensuring delivery commitments are met while driving efficiencies, cost control and operational performance. Working closely with internal teams, suppliers and customers, the Project Manager will coordinate project plans, production schedules and variation requests to support smooth and effective delivery.
Key Responsibilities of the Project Manager:- Lead, motivate and support teams across the business to achieve project and production goals.
- Plan machine loading and workflow to maximise output and minimise changeover conflicts.
- Work closely with engineering and external suppliers to reduce cycle times.
- Deliver against purchase order requirements while identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
- Arrange and attend internal and customer meetings, including occasional travel to customer sites.
- Create, manage and circulate project plans, status reports and updates.
- Strong background in strategic planning and delivering to customer deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
- Extensive experience within a manufacturing environment, machine shop experience is preferred but not essential.
- Apprenticeship or qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (preferred).
- Supervisory/management qualification such as ILM Level 3 (desirable).
- Full UK driving licence required.
