Extel is the leading provider of unattributed, qualitative feedback, for all three sides of the investment community (Buy-side, Sell-side and Corporates). Extel data is internationally recognized as the measure by which many investment professionals in the financial industry benchmark performance.

Extel has evolved from a Research & Rankings business to offer detailed data and advisory output that delivers actionable intelligence to the investment community. Over the course of the last three years, we have evolved a suite of new products that have generated a significant revenue stream, providing enhanced analytics and transparency to the existing dataset.

The Trading & Execution product was re-launched in 2023 and a new incentive exercise, the Global Rates Study, was initiated to encourage buy-side participation. The Associate will work closely with the Director of Buy-side Relations to develop relationships globally, with a specific focus on Trading & Execution desks and broker liaison officers. The Associate will also be responsible for voter outreach and data collection for the Global Equity Rates Study and Trading & Execution Survey.

Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years of client service experience
  • A good understanding and interest in financial markets and Trading & Execution functions
  • Evidence of project management skills that include the ability to hit deadlines
  • Experience multi-tasking in a complex environment and deliver high-quality work
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Creative and critical thinking skills to analyze data and uncover insights
  • IT Literate; good knowledge of Microsoft Office (including strong Excel skills)
  • Some client service experience would be beneficial
  • Familiarity with a Bloomberg Terminal would be beneficial

Responsibilities:

  • Your role will require you to undertake the following responsibilities:
  • Interaction with external contacts to explain voting process, methodology, and strategic changes being made by Extel, as well as encouraging participation in the surveys.
  • Management of Global Equity Rates Study; the Associate will take responsibility for preparing the attributes, targeting respondents, and ensuring active engagement with the survey. Liaise with Director of Buy-side Engagement to maximise participation.
  • Overseeing the evolution of Trading & Execution related product suite; survey questions and portal, data outputs and Trading & Execution Dashboards for Buy and Sell side. Initiating appropriate give back strategies and products to encourage a robust data set.
  • Assist with the implementation of new tools & systems, which include Hubspot and Qlik, to understand the operational processes, data flow between systems, and ensure that data sources are updated.
  • Data cleansing to ensure accurate demographic information, eligibility of participants and quality of voting for research projects, working with project managers and outsourced database team. Maintain accurate contact data in CRM; search for any inconsistencies or duplicates.
  • Assist with preparation of Global Equity Rates Study and Trading & Execution survey results publication. Review results for processing errors, year-on-year trends, and missing information.
