Project Engineer in Leeds

We are hiring a Project Engineer to support the delivery of major commercial deployments by coordinating technical documentation, reporting, and task tracking. These projects involve field deployment of our in‑house robotic systems and specialist coatings across power networks. Based within the Applications Engineering team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the day‑to‑day delivery work is organised, well‑documented, and progressing. This is not a management role – it’s a hands‑on, detail‑oriented position ideal for an early‑career engineer looking to develop practical project experience while working on world‑first technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out day‑to‑day coordination tasks to keep engineering and field activities organised.
• Update and maintain project plans, task lists, trackers, and risk logs.
• Follow up with internal teams and suppliers to ensure tasks are completed on time.
• Prepare and maintain technical documents, drawings, and deployment records.
• Collate and organise evidence for grant claims and project reporting.
• Assist with producing RAMS, test reports, and handover documentation.
• Support internal coordination across engineering, operations, and field teams.
• Help schedule meetings, take notes, and follow up on actions.
• Communicate clearly with delivery partners and vendors to share information and chase updates.
• Use project management tools to record progress and highlight delays or issues.
• Maintain version control and document filing for all technical records.
• Identify simple process improvements to help the team work more efficiently.

Required Skills & Experience

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical background (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Aerospace).
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Confident with spreadsheets, trackers, and document editing tools (e.g. Excel, Word, Google Docs).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion with a high degree of autonomy.
• Comfortable chasing updates, following up actions, and keeping records tidy and accurate.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• 2+ years’ experience in a technical or project support role.
• Familiarity with project management tools such as ClickUp.
• Experience preparing technical documentation, reports, or engineering admin.
• Exposure to engineering delivery environments (e.g. infrastructure, manufacturing, robotics, utilities).
