You collaborate with other staff to align training with team strategies, promote growth in sporting and language skills, and ensure the supervision and welfare of students both during and outside coaching sessions.
In this role you'll play a direct role in fostering young people's development across technical, tactical, physical, and psycho-social areas. You'll benefit from professional development and skill growth while developing transferable skills that enhance future career prospects. Working in a residential multicultural environment adds unique experience, and offers you the chance to participate in evening events, excursions, mealtime supervision, and welfare duties, providing well-rounded pastoral care.
As a Goalkeeper Coach you deliver the agreed programme with the Head Coach, designing progressive sessions tailored to individual student needs and adaptable to your expertise, providing outfield and goalkeeper-specific training in a proactive, focused, and engaging manner within a safe, inclusive environment. You foster technical, tactical, physical, and psychosocial growth through daily sessions focusing on positioning, agility, reflexes, shot-stopping, handling, footwork, distribution, decision-making, and communication, with all instruction exclusively in English for language immersion. You prepare detailed session plans and records for Head Coach or Centre Manager review, continually assess and manage risks for safe delivery, complete weekly progress reports highlighting development, strengths, and improvements for all goalkeepers, assist with equipment maintenance and storage, and contribute to sports workshops on topics like mental performance, physical health, cultural awareness, leadership, and performance analysis.
You support student well-being and happiness, supervise mealtimes at least once weekly ensuring good behaviour and health safety, assist evening events when sport sessions are limited or staffing ample, carry out rota-based wake-up, bedtime, and fire safety duties ensuring students are settled and safe, help with airport transfers, excursions, and check-ins/outs for smooth transitions, participate in daily briefings for updates and coordination, adhere to Staff Handbook and Centre Manager guidelines for professional conduct, and undertake other reasonable tasks demonstrating flexibility.
