Plan and run our exciting evening events for students! Example events include Cool Runnings Bobsleigh Night, Sports Disco, Exsportise's Got Talent, Races/Casino Night, Challenge Night (vs. Staff), alongside integration and welcome events and sports nights (Dodgeball tournament, Tag Football).

Main roles and accountability

Key Duties (divided/shared by 2 Events Managers per school):

  • Your role plans and delivers a varied, innovative weekly evening entertainment and social programme for all age groups, organising daytime break activities and support for early arrivals/late departures.
  • Complete risk assessments and budgets (with Centre Manager approval), incorporate the "Team Orange" philosophy to foster personal growth, social confidence, and self‐awareness, and provide the Centre Manager with a weekly programme schedule.
  • Coordinate logistics including scheduling, staffing, equipment, and supplies, engage and excite students about activities, and take responsibility for student/staff welfare and discipline during evenings to maintain a safe environment.
  • Supervise and train evening staff for a motivated, collaborative team, liaise with external suppliers, organise off‐site transportation, assign student groups and staff, run evening meetings for staff/students, and organise separate events for younger/older students twice weekly.
  • Maintain equipment, ensure health and safety compliance, and support additional activities like airport transfers, excursions, student check‐ins, and camp videos for a comprehensive experience.

Additional Duties

  • Support students' wellbeing and happiness, supervise mealtimes, wake‐ups, and bedtimes on a rota basis to promote positive behaviour and inclusion.
  • Attend daily staff meetings for updates and communication, adhere to Staff Handbook guidelines and Centre Manager directives, assist with camp set‐up/pack‐down, and carry out any other reasonable duties for smooth operations.

Job Specific Personal Specification & Qualifications

To be suitable for this role, you have native or near-native English competence, with a minimum CEFR level C1 for clear and accurate communication. You bring previous experience working with children and leading events or trips, ideally in a residential setting. You are highly organised and responsible, with excellent time management and multitasking skills. You can work both collaboratively and independently, demonstrating strong leadership skills and the ability to engage, motivate, and manage staff and students. Your communication skills are excellent, enabling you to connect comfortably with people of all levels, while your cultural sensitivity helps you work inclusively with diverse student groups. You handle pressure well and multitask effectively, showing enthusiasm, friendliness, and a proactive personality. You are flexible and adaptable to working hours and fully compliant with safeguarding and child protection policies, maintaining professionalism in appearance, conduct, and language. You are willing to participate fully in camp life. Ideally, you have an event management degree or a background in performance or acting, which gives you stage presence and confidence to engage an audience of 150+ students.
