Role Overview
In this role, you’ll develop strong leadership and communication skills, build responsibility, and enhance organisational abilities through practical, hands-on experience working with international children in a fast-paced, multinational residential setting. You will also gain effective team-working skills in a supportive, collaborative culture and acquire transferable skills that strengthen professional CVs for future career opportunities.
Main roles and accountability
The Airport / St Pancras International Supervisor oversees student pick-ups and drop-offs at designated airports / station, warmly greeting arrivals, ensuring waiting times stay under 2 hours, and maintaining constant supervision for safety. They act as the main point of contact for staff, drivers, airlines, and unaccompanied minors (UMs), managing issues like delays, lost luggage, or immigration hold-ups while updating the Database Transport Scheduler and live flight / train info for Head Office transparency. Additional duties include leading communications via instant messaging groups, supporting new staff with training, coordinating briefings / debriefings, assisting with welfare needs, and demonstrating flexibility for extended peak-hour shifts to ensure smooth, secure transfers.
They follow guidelines outlined in the Airport / Eurostar Supervisor Handbook and as explained during your Induction.

To be suitable for this role, you are well travelled and familiar with general airport procedures, including arrivals, departures, security, and airline or Eurostar protocols. You are highly organised, responsible, and proactive, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate and manage unexpected situations calmly to keep operations running smoothly. You communicate confidently with students, parents, staff, and external partners, and use your strong leadership skills to manage, motivate, and support on-duty airport staff. You stay composed under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stress environment, and your enthusiastic, friendly, and approachable manner helps create a welcoming atmosphere for students and colleagues. You are flexible and adaptable about working hours, including long or irregular shifts at peak times, and your caring, compassionate nature means you prioritise student welfare and wellbeing. You work both collaboratively and independently, consistently demonstrating reliability, professionalism, and a firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting student safety in line with relevant policies and procedures. Ideally, you have a good command of a European language such as French, German, Italian, or Spanish, and bring experience working with children or young people, preferably in an international or residential setting.
