All Summer Camp locations Role Overview Band 1 teachers teach on our English Foundation Pathway covering CEFR levels A1 - C1 and where all classes are based on a curriculum especially designed for our students.

Main roles and accountability

  • Deliver a language programme that is meaningful, dynamic, interactive, and responsive to students' needs.
  • Ensure lessons are engaging, relevant, and enjoyable.
  • Teach up to 200 minutes daily or 16.7 hours weekly.
  • Take full responsibility for students’ safety, welfare, and behaviour during the EFL programme.
  • Maintain accurate lesson plans, class profiles, registers, and weekly work logs.
  • Liaise with fellow teachers and the Director of Studies on planning and feedback.
  • Communicate clear learning objectives at each lesson’s start and check off upon achievement.
  • Keep student notebooks current with work, corrections, and self-reviews.
  • Create vibrant classroom displays showcasing weekly achievements.
  • Enforce a no-phone policy during the English programme.

Additional Duties

  • Attend daily staff meetings.
  • Follow Staff Handbook and Centre Manager / Director of Studies guidelines.
  • Assist with camp setup and pack-down.
  • Carry out reasonable duties supporting smooth camp operations.

Job Specific Personal Specification & Qualifications

  • TEFLI qualified teacher with credentials such as CELTA, Trinity TESOL, or an equivalent UK-recognised accreditation.
  • Native or near-native competence in English (minimum CEFR level C2).
  • A first degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills.
  • Possess excellent communication, enthusiasm, and a friendly attitude.
  • Flexible and adaptable to the residential summer school culture and working hours.
  • Represent professionalism through smart appearance and appropriate language.
  • Ideally, have at least one year of teaching experience, specialise in teaching young learners, and have previous residential summer school experience.
