Overall Purpose of the Job

Provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring effective delivery of Competence Assurance activities across the Coretrax Product Group. This role supports business objectives through the development and implementation of training and competence strategies, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The area of responsibility covers all four Coretrax Product Lines globally.

  • ORIGIN – Wellbore clean up

Key Activities and Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement a Competence Assurance Strategy aligned to short and long-term business objectives
  • Lead the identification, development, and delivery of Technical Training to support operational and organisational needs
  • Ensure the effective utilisation of resources, monitoring performance against agreed plans
  • Support and develop a team of Regional and Product Line technical trainers, ensuring high standards of service delivery
  • Oversee the training needs analysis process, using data to prioritise training requirements (courses, locations, target groups) and evaluate training effectiveness
  • Manage and promote the Expro Competence Assurance Program, acting as a champion to drive engagement and understanding across the business
  • Recommend and implement cost-effective training and competence solutions that improve business performance
  • Deliver presentations and training sessions on competence assurance topics to support engagement with the Competence Assurance Program
  • Collaborate with Group Competence Assurance on strategic projects and initiatives

People & Leadership

  • Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to Regional and Product Line Trainers
  • Liaise with Product Line Managers and Subject Matter Experts to ensure effective training solutions are developed and delivered
  • Use effective influencing skills to drive compliance with the Competence Assurance Program
  • Ensure competence frameworks are effectively used to develop and assess employees
  • Conduct competence assessments where required

Job Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Experience within Workshop, Operational, and Competence Assurance environments
  • Proven training and coaching experience
  • Experience in the maintenance of downhole equipment
  • Operational experience in more than one of the following areas:
    • Wellbore clean up
    • Well abandonment
    • Downhole drilling tools
    • Expandable liners
