Overall Purpose of the Job
Based at our Coretrax facility in Portlethen, Aberdeen you will be responsible for the movement of equipment and materials in or out of the yard/workshop area. Ensure that all activities within yard area e.g. lifting and movement of equipment are carried out as per company procedures. Ensure the safety of all personnel including visitors to yard area.
Key Activities & Accountabilities
- Operate various forklift truck types, 8 tonne Combi lift, 15 tonne and 3.5 tonne counterbalance, aisle master.
- Operate workshop cranes (full in-house training will be provided).
- Torque machine operation, to make up and break out tools from BHAs.
- Transport pieces of equipment to and from local machine shops.
- Transport third party hired equipment to and from third parties.
- Ensure/know weights are loaded and do not exceed the capacity of the truck.
- Load and unload equipment into and out of offshore baskets, 10 ft containers.
- Ensure loadout tools are properly secured and complete drop object inspections on loadouts.
- Take photos of loaded baskets before shipping as per company policy.
- Ensure all serial numbers of tools are visible when basket is loaded.
- Clean and prepare stripped tool parts for inspection, utilizing power washer, air buffs, shot blaster, wash cleaning machines.
- Ensure that all returned incoming equipment serial numbers are recorded as per procedure, inform workshop Co-Ordinator of returns/checklist.
- Maintain the yard designated areas, ensure product lines are kept in their respective areas, feedback at toolbox talks if areas are becoming untidy.
- Flexibility to work a reasonable amount of overtime as and when required.
- Actively participate in daily toolbox talks to discuss safety, status/tasks, mobilisation/demobilisation updates etc.
- Carry out daily forklift inspections/pick up truck inspections.
- In addition to forklift/pick up check sheets, ensure workshop supervisor is made aware of faults.
- Be vigilant and ensure/report any broken/rotten pallets are scrapped in the wood waste.
Job Knowledge & Qualifications
- Full, clean UK driving licence is essential.
- Previous working experience in a similar role.
- Hold appropriate certificates for using and operating of lifting equipment – e.g. fork lift licence, banksman slinger.
- Beneficial, experience in conducting lifting operations, i.e. Appointed person, LOLER focal point.
- Written and verbal communication skills, and work effectively with others.
- Proficient PC skills.
