We have an excellent opportunity for a CNC Machinist and Setter. We are looking for an experienced CNC Turner to join our growing team in a high-precision aerospace environment. As a key supplier to the aerospace industry, we manufacture a range of products, working with high tolerance components using CNC machines with Fanuc, Seiki, and Heidenhain control. You would be reporting into the Production Manager, with potential for development into a Team Lead position.
PURPOSE OF ROLE
- You will strive for efficient running of CNC Turning Machines, Lathes, Turning Mills, Bar Feeders.
- Responsible for running and setting CNC Machines and work with machines including Doosan, Hardinge, Mori, and Star.
- To maintain quality control within the manufacturing process, in line with business standards and customer requirements.
- Aerospace manufacturing, working with all materials from Aluminium, stainless steels, and Inconel.
- Work collaboratively to meet production targets in a fast-paced environment.
CORE SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES NEEDED
- Minimum of 2 years' experience setting and operating CNC turning machines with programming within a high precision manufacturing environment (desirable).
- Set and run Fixed Head/Sliding Head CNC Turning Machines, with Fanuc and Seiki controls.
- Strong mechanical knowledge, including familiarity with hand tools and machining processes.
- Experience with Bar Feed Machines.
- Able to set and run Twin Spindle Twin Turret Machines (optional).
- Able to read engineering drawings.
- Skilled in working to tight tolerances across a range of materials.
- Proactive, dependable, and capable of working independently.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Working hours Monday to Thursday 06.45 to 16.30 = 37 hour week - Overtime available. Paid 20th of each month. Additional benefits: Pension Plan, Health Cash Plan, Life Insurance Scheme, Employee Assistance Scheme, Including GP anywhere across 24 hours, Shopping Voucher Discounts.
