Occupiers’ and Public Liability
We are seeking an experienced OL/PL Claimant Senior Solicitor to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and commercially minded lawyer to manage a high‑quality caseload of Occupier’s and Public Liability claims, working within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The Role
We pride ourselves on the quality of our work, supported by strong non‑CMC referral sources, ensuring you are dealing with genuine and meritorious claims. This is a target‑driven role where success is rewarded through a generous, uncapped commission structure. All our lawyers receive a percentage of every case they win, with no hurdles and no caps.
Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of OL/PL claims from cradle to grave
- Handling both pre‑issue and litigated fast‑track and multi‑track matters
- Conducting legal research and providing clear, commercial legal advice
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and other legal documents
- Negotiating settlements with opponents and insurers
- Progressing cases efficiently through litigation
- Representing clients at court where required
- Working in a fast‑paced, target‑driven environment
- Collaborating with colleagues to achieve the best outcomes
- Keeping up to date with developments in relevant law and practice
- Supporting junior team members
Person Specification
- Qualified Solicitor, CILEX, or equivalent experience (5–8+ PQE)
- Proven track record of managing a litigated OL/PL claimant caseload
- Experience handling cases from inception to trial or disposal
- Strong knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules
- Experience handling fast‑track and multi‑track OL/PL claims
- Claims portal experience (essential)
- Strong negotiation and advocacy skills
- Ability to manage a busy caseload independently
- Commercial and client‑focused approach
- Proclaim experience (advantageous)
- Tenacity, enthusiasm, and a proactive mindset
Salary & Hours
A basic salary of £55,000‑£70,000, dependent on experience. Our standard working hours are 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday‑Thursday and 8:30 am to 5 pm Friday.
