The Role
Express is currently looking to appoint a Proclaim Developer, who will design, develop, and administer the Proclaim case‑management system. The role will work closely with our Development Manager, seven other developers, and third‑party vendors such as Access Legal Systems to integrate identified improvements efficiently and with minimal impact on end users. Responsibilities also include day‑to‑day system administration, template maintenance, user configuration, task‑server administration, and report design and execution. The role will require cooperation with the general IT and Operations departments.
Person Specification
Essential- General understanding of common database programming and query languages
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Effective communication skills for reporting technical progress to senior stakeholders
- Ability to document and evidence planned changes using project and workflow documentation, and to retain current configurations for recovery
- Excellent organisation and time‑management skills
- Understanding of internal‑customer concept, ensuring confidence in Proclaim’s suitability for the business
- Strong negotiation skills, capability to manage external vendors and maintenance projects
- Proclaim Technical Level 4 training (or equivalent practical experience)
- Minimum five years’ experience in a similar Proclaim development role
- Experience creating case types, database fields, and correspondents
- Screen design and intelligence
- Use of maths fields and tests for specific functions
- Workflow maintenance: creation of linked actions, forms, secure documents, master documents
- Advanced report training or equivalent experience designing, amending, and scheduling reports
- Design and execution of SQL queries
- Experience with auto‑routines and import/export routines
- Task‑server configuration, scheduling, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with Proclaim v3.5 and its additional features
- Design and execution of macros
- Knowledge of Proclaim Accounts and Sage accounting software
- Experience with Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence, Medical Agency, and Costs case types
- Knowledge of SQL or similar database languages and ASP, PHP or similar for Web interfacing
- HTML knowledge
- Understanding of web services and multi‑platform system interactions
- Knowledge of Proclaim MI Warehouse
- Understanding of Proclaim A2A integration and maintenance
- Experience creating and maintaining Proclaim Secure Docs
- Practical knowledge of Windows‑based networks, Active Directory, and Exchange
Salary & Hours
Salary of £40,000 – £50,000, dependent on experience. Standard working hours: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm Monday‑Thursday and 8:30 am – 5 pm Friday; flexible approach required for occasional maintenance outside core hours.
