Role: Start your legal career with one of the UK's leading law firms and qualify as a solicitor without going to university full-time.
We're recruiting a number of Legal Apprentices to join us on 26 August 2026.
As a Legal Apprentice, you'll earn a salary from day one while gaining real legal experience and studying towards solicitor qualification through our six-year apprenticeship programme.
We deliver on progression: You'll begin your journey as a Legal Apprentice in our New Client Team, learning how personal injury claims work and developing key legal and client service skills.
After your first year, and subject to performance, you'll progress into a Litigation Assistant role within one of our specialist departments.
As your experience grows, you'll support solicitors on live cases before managing your own caseload and working towards qualification.
We work hard and play hard Law has always been seen as a challenging profession.
Express Solicitors expect you to work hard for our clients.
But we also love to have fun, with regular department socials, yearly Christmas parties (paid for by the business) and every other year a Summer social at the CEO's house paid for by James, himself.
We also have lots of other regular activities, with weekly football and netball games, a running club and a board game night.

- Providing administrative support to legal teams As a Legal Apprentice, you'll receive:
- One paid study day per week
- Support from a supervisor, tutor and peer mentor

Hours: £10.85 per hour in Year 1 (increasing annually) Working pattern for your first year: Our team work on a rotation of one week of early shifts then one week of late shifts.
- Early Shift: 08.30 - 17.00 (8:30 - 16:30 on Friday)
- Late
Shift: 12.00 - 20.00 (12:00 - 19:30 on Friday) You will be required to work one weekend shift every third weekend, with a day off in lieu in the week, both of which will be fixed following initial training.
- Weekends/Bank Holidays 10:00-18:00 Working hours after your first year:
- 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday-Thursday and 8:30 am to 5 pm Friday Benefits:
