The Role
We are seeking a Civil Litigation Lawyer to join our Consumer Litigation team. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of civil disputes, ensuring high-quality legal advice and representation is delivered to clients while maintaining compliance with regulatory and firm standards. Tenacity, ability, and enthusiasm are key attributes in helping to get the best results for our clients. Responsibilities
- Handle a full range of civil litigation matters, which may include subrogated recoveries, housing disrepair, debt recovery and enforcement.
- Advise clients on the merits of their case, potential risks, and available options.
- Draft pleadings, witness statements, applications, and correspondence.
- Prepare cases for hearings, trials, and settlement negotiations.
- Conduct advocacy at interim hearings where appropriate.
- Manage files from instruction to conclusion with minimal supervision.
- Liaise with clients, counsel, courts, and third parties in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate file records and ensure compliance with SRA regulations, GDPR, and firm procedures.
- Support the litigation team by providing cover during periods of absence or increased workload.
Person Specification
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with strong civil litigation experience.
- Proven track record in independently managing a varied litigation caseload.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Strong knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules (CPR).
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong client care skills with a professional and approachable manner.
- Adaptability to quickly integrate into new teams and systems.
- Experience on proclaim case management system.
- Re-train positions are also offered for a solicitor with a strong civil litigation background of at least 2 years. Full training will be provided.
Salary & Hours
A basic salary of up to £55,000, dependent on experience. Our standard working hours are 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday-Thursday and 8:30am to 5pm Friday.
