Express Recruitment is proud to be supporting a growing construction consultancy in their search for a highly motivated and organised Lead Technical Manager to oversee sustainable construction and retrofit projects, focusing on social housing and RICS surveys.
Reporting to the Operations and Managing Directors, you will lead a team of junior project managers to deliver fast-paced projects with a strong emphasis on sustainability, quality, and efficiency.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead planning, execution, and delivery of sustainable construction projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and sustainability goals are met
- Supervise and mentor junior project managers, fostering professional development
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to exceed project requirements
- Ensure compliance with sustainable building standards such as LEED and BREEAM
- Identify and mitigate project risks to maintain momentum
- Manage resources, budgets, and personnel for optimal efficiency
- Provide regular progress updates to senior management and stakeholders
- Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and delivery
Skills and Experience
- Previous project management experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Strong expertise in sustainable construction, green building certifications, and retrofit techniques
- Proven leadership and team mentoring skills in fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or related field is preferred
